to be energized and attractive to prospective clients—so, if you
are feeling down in the dumps or just plain exhausted, it is time to
find something fun that gives you energy and makes you feel alive.
Doing so is more important than you realize. This dynamic isn’t a
mystery. Imagine you are interviewing two candidates, both cur-
rently unemployed, for the same job opening, and they are in all
respects equally qualified. One candidate has stopped all the fun
and exciting activities in her life, because she didn’t think she could
afford them anymore, while the other candidate has kept up her
passion for dancing. Which one will get the job? My money is on
the dancer, because she’ll show up more energized, radiant, and full
of joy and vigor.
Write down as many ideas as you can think of, and then pick
one or two to get started with right away. Again, do this now. (I
hope you are getting the message.)
