Screw Compressors Chapter 6 307
If applied properly, orifice plates can be used in screw compressor piping
systems to significantly reduce pulsation amplitudes. Typically, an orifice is
simply a metal plate with a single hole/bore. Some research has concluded
that multi-hole orifices are more effective at reducing pulsation amplitudes
at frequencies higher than approximately 100Hz.
