Finally, I want to thank the most important person in my life—
my spouse and soul-mate, my friend and business partner, my
toughest critic and most ardent advocate, Diane Guyse Fiksel. She
not only contributed substantive content to this book, but also care-
fully reviewed and helped to refine the entire manuscript. Together,
we have raised three admirable young men, Justin, Cameron, and
Brandon, who are now entering their college years. This book is really
about their future—the first generation of the new millennium.
