Dr. Malandro is the author of the international book Say It Right
the First Time and other landmark books, including Courtroom
Communication Strategies and Nonverbal Communication. She is a
former professor at Florida State and Arizona State universities. She
received her Ph.D. in communication theory and research from Florida
State University and her undergraduate degree from Kent State University.
The recipient of many academic awards, Malandro was on the first
international debate team cosponsored by the U.S. government and
the National Speech Association, where she and teammates debated in
the Russian language throughout the former Soviet Union.
