Recommended for products: reactive systems, adhesives, sealants, rubber, elastomers,
composites
Polyurethane-based pressure-sensitive adhesives containing monofunctional ure-
thane acrylate and difunctional urethane acrylate have been cured using electron beam
4
irradiation. With increased radiation dose and concentration of crosslinker (isophorone
diisocyanate, methylene diphenyl isocyanate, or triaryl isocyanurate), peel adhesion,
shear adhesion strength, and initial tack were increased, reached a plateau, and then
4
declined. Similar observations were made for waterborne polyurethane ink binders cross-
linked with trimethylolpropane where finding the optimum concentration of the cross-
5
linker was the goal of the research.
