A potential hydroelectric site has an estimated maximum static head for the
hydroturbines of 300 ft (91.4 m), between the water source and the
downstream pool. Average conduit flow of the water to the turbines is 575

cfs (16.3 m /s); maximum flow rate is 675 cfs (19.1 m /s). Determine the
practical power output of this potential hydro site. Evaluate the various
factors that must be considered to make the site economically feasible.
Figures 5 through 8 show possible turbine choices.
