            9.3 APPLICATION DATA

A method of manufacturing hydrophobic microfibrillated cellulose in which an organic
hydrophobization reagent (alkenyl succinic anhydride) is reacted with substituents on the
                                                                19
surface of the microfibrillated cellulose in an aqueous dispersion.
A masterbatch having reactive silicone as a hydrophobic additive, the polyester com-
pound that the silicone-containing masterbatch has been let down into, and the plastic arti-
cles and films from such compounds having enhanced hydrophobic properties are
                    20
discussed. An additive to effectively and continuously provide hydrophobic surfaces for
polyester-based compounds should be non-migratory, should have improved anti-graffiti
properties compared to polyester compounds without the hydrophobic additives, and
                                           20
should exhibit good stability over time. The additives selected contain epoxy-functional

            siloxane or carbinol-functional siloxane.
The adhesion promoting composition comprises an adhesion promoting compound
                                                                                  21
having an amine group, a silane functional group, and/or a germanium functional group.
Mixture composition containing amino-functional siloxanes, hydrophobic particles,
                                                                            22
and high molecular weight silicones was developed for use in leather treatment.
A composition comprises a fluororubber, a hydrophobic silica, and a crosslinking
agent, wherein the silica is subjected to hydrophobic treatment with hexamethyldisilazane
                       23
            or silicone oil.
A composite containing absorbents/natural fillers, highly amorphous hydrophobic
polymers and a crosslinker was developed for selective absorption of spillages of organic
wastes such as hydrocarbons and oil spills while not absorbing or showing poor absorp-

A method of enhancing the water repellency of a textile and/or enhancing a textiles

ability to repel water-soluble dirt. The method comprises such steps as application of an
emulsified liquid composition on a textile (water, alkylalkoxysilane with said alkyl chain
having a length of 10-30 carbons or carbon atoms higher than 12, emulsifier, surfactant,
thickener and/or stabilizer); addition of the composition of aminosilicones for softness and
