to evaluate performance. The number of tasks scheduled, rescheduled,
and completed is listed at the end of the report along with the compliance
percentages and the total time in hours for normal and downtime catego-
ries. A typical plant preventive maintenance performance report is
shown in Figure 2-5.
Preventive maintenance tasks that were not completed as scheduled are
summarized in addenda to the schedule and sent to plant managers as re-
minders. The addenda are printed monthly by the computer, based on
noncompliance of tasks previously scheduled. Deferred tasks continue to
appear on these addenda until completed. A set of feedback cards accom-
panies the addenda for the reporting of work completed. From the com-
puter angle, the program key is the eight-digit code number given each
machine task. The first four digits represent the equipment number. The
fifth digit represents the plant number because there are two or three
plants at some operating locations. The sixth digit represents the type of
craft applicable, such as mechanical, instrumentation, or electrical. The
seventh and eighth digits are random sequential numbers identifying each
PM task.
Data reported via the feedback cards are accumulated by the computer.
This includes time expended for each maintenance task and the number
