Second, the authors report a 35 percent average increase in pro-
ductivity when organizations move to a Results-Only Work Environ-
ment. That’s not bad, especially when managers may not even know
where their employees are half the time.
Third, all the soft issues you might anticipate in a show-up-when-
you-want-to environment prove to be nonissues. In fact, most em-
ployers feel that the interactions with their managers in a ROWE
environment stay the same or improve, and the same goes with their
team members and clients. Even better, 72 percent of employees mi-
grating to a ROWE environment at Best Buy felt their connection to
the organization was strong or very strong.
ROWE results are impressive with other organizations as well,
which report higher productivity per employee, greater job satisfac-
tion, higher organizational commitment, increased accountability,
more work–life balance, and higher wellness indicators. 10
