                 amplitude of this signal, the more complete has been the conversion of the exhaust gases in the
                 catalytic converter. The averaged value of the downstream probe is also determined and  it
                 should fall in a predefined range A (fig. 27). In the case where the averaged signal does not fall
                 in this range A (fig. 27c), the operating point of the control system is changed for such a length
                 of time until the downstream probe has reached a desired value
