which is resin coated with 1-naphtyl isothiocyanate (NITC), separate and detect the eluent from XAD2
resin with HPLC-UV [33-35].
The methods using silica gel as adsorbent are reported in the HPLC-UV method using m-toluoyl
chloride as a derivatizing reagent [30], and the HPLC-FL method using 7-chloro-4-intro-
1,2,3benzoxaziazole [31].
Gao and others [32], by the use of polymeric-activated ester-carbonate fluorenyl reagent (Fig. 1.3.10),
developed the HPLC-FL method which allows amine in the eluent to be derivatized on-line. The system
according to this method included the column packed with reactive polymer mounted on the HPLC line
as shown in Fig.1.3.11, and enabled on-line operation from the FMOC
