430 CHAPTER 1 Introduction to UK DCR Regulations and the Duties
Subject to the duty holder’s agreement, the ICP should actively seek to assist the
duty holder in their liaison with the regulator (within the bounds of the contract), and
cooperate fully with all parties involved in such activities.
RETENTION OF VERIFICATION RECORDS
The legislation requires the duty holder of an installation to retain records of activities
supporting verification for a period of 6 months after the Verification Scheme ceases
to operate. However, the ICP should not rely on these as a record of our activities.
Records should be retained of the following for at least the same period:
• Verification Scheme
• Formal comment on record of SECEs and on Verification Scheme
• Activity Reports/Statements Issued
• Documentation referenced on activity reports/statements
