Part SAE is a different case. Its OH alert position is in the yellow with an on-hand
position of 70. Top of green is set at 200. There is no open supply, but there is a demand
of 60 units. In this case, the available stock position is in the red zone (i.e., 70 on hand +
0 open supply – 60 demand = 10). Part SAE’s problem has nothing to do with open sup-
ply; there isn’t any. No open supply is the problem. Thus a planning action is required to
launch additional supply orders. Figure 27-12 is a summary of Part SAE’s current on-
hand and available stock situation.
Figure 27-13 is another example of an OH alert. In this case, the alert is for pur-
chased parts only. The filter is set for stock-out and red and yellow zone on-hand status.
Part PPA is stocked-out with demand, meaning that there is no on-hand stock and at the
same time there is qualified actual demand. The source of the demand for 25 is immate-
