          damage occurs to the pipeline, as is the desirable intent, then  the equipment will never be
          used. Also, based on the results of  a risk assessment/occurrence probability analysis, the total
          investment cost for a repair using a diverless repair system could be compared with the cost of
          a repair performed by relaying a section of  pipeline and performing the necessary tie-ins in a
          water depth reachable by  divers. For  these  and  other reasons  it is  absolutely essential to
          choose a repair strategy that can solve all the envisaged repair tasks in a reliable and efficient
          manner and at the lowest possible cost.
