6.4.4 Cable Insulation Resistance Test
The cable insulation test is undertaken using a Megger tester of 5 kV DC for
1 minute. before and after the high voltage test of the cable. The connection
will be as shown in Fig. 6.8.
The above procedures are repeated for the other two phases of the cable.
6.4.5 Cable Capacitance Test
This test is done using a capacitor meter as shown in Fig. 6.9.
The first lead of the capacitor meter is connected to the cable phase con-
ductor and the other lead is connected to the cable metallic sheet and mea-
sured in μF.
