scratches on the sealing surfaces. Packing must be properly installed
according to instructions and carefully checked for wear.
Compressor packing can be fully lubricated, mini-lubricated, micro-
lubricated or fully non-lubricated. It can also be cooled by oil, water, or
thermo-syphon cooling.
A typical piston rod packing arrangement is shown in Figure 3-28.
