Finally, many thanks to my family for emotional support during the
writing, editing, and production of the book, including my wife Jackie
and our children, Mike, Gail, Nancy, and Jon, as well as my grand-
children, who brought me great joy between the many days of writing
and editing. I also thank the many attendees of my seminars on six
sigma and quality methods, including the in-company presentations,
who kept alive my interest and faith in six sigma. I wish them success
in implementing six sigma tools and methods in their companies.
