32.4 Constraints and Considerations
Below is a list of the key considerations in regards to recycling for metal manufactures
■ Unit value—The market price for various metals
■ Availability—The amount and frequency of the various metal material generated
■ Capacity—The available space to store or stage recyclable materials
■ Disposal cost—The cost per unit for disposal; this is the key economic value required
to determine the break-even point versus recycling
■ Environmental impact—The result on the environment if the metal material is not
disposed of properly
