            monitored with the ICP atomic emission spectrometer, using the interface shown in Figure 6.15.

            The interface was very simple, and consisted of a heated stainless steel tube that conducted the column
            eluent directly into the ICP torch. The chromatograph was a Trecor Model 560 fitted with a capillary,
            split/splitless injector. A fused capillary column (DB-5) was employed, 30 m long and 0.25 mm I.D.,
            and argon gas was used as the mobile phase at a flow rate of 30 ml/min. The ICP emission spectrometer
            was the Baird Model PS-1. To produce the plasma, 1.5 kW of power was supplied to the cooled
            coupling coils from an rf generator operating at 27.1
