If an instructor resource table is used, especially if it is turned horizontally between the
trainer and participants, there is a physical barrier separating the two.
Requires more space than some other configurations. Limits the number of participants
                                   to approximately 24.

                    Variations

Double U-Shaped Seating (with Tables) (Figure 5-8)
Although providing the same advantages and disadvantages as the single U-shaped
seating, this configuration provides a forum to have one group (inner U) conduct an
activity or discuss a topic while the outer group observes, critiques, and/or provides
                                feedback.

Crescent Style Seating (with Tables) (Figure 5-9)

This alternative to the U-shape seating configuration offers the same advantages and
disadvantages except that the number of seats is reduced. Also, putting participants in
the center becomes more awkward because most of the learners on the insides of the
crescent would have to turn to face the front of the room and would lose their writing
                                surfaces.
