Do a little skit about the session with cloth hand puppets. You can sew buttons or cloth
facial features onto socks for this.
Have a party with refreshments. Pass out party hats, favors, and noisemakers and deco-
rate the room with streamers and balloons during the last break of the day.
Have an award ceremony by giving a sheet of paper listing the following categories:
Most creative
Most helpful
Most confident
Most carefree
Most knowledgeable
Most curious
Most fun
Have learners vote by putting the name of one peer per category (they can self-nominate).
The name of a learner can be used in more than one category. After the voting, col-
lect all the sheets and tally the responses. Reward winners and give small prizes to
everyone else.

Obook, Oh, the Places You Will Go! The message of the book has impact because
it deals with hope, optimism, and reaching for goals. I follow the reading with a
brief statement of encouragement for learners strive to achieve their action plans.
