Repair Types The area where 1. the existing liner has been removed should be replaced by a short-liner patch repair. Install point 2. repair with smooth transition.
Requirements A new bulge in the invert, caused by residual debris left in the pipe that impedes the flow characteristics of the pipeline, should be cut out.

Accepted Tolerance Repair if bulges or lumps in liner is exceeding 5 percent of nominal diameter of existing pipe or if causing flow restrictions.
Probable Cause Displaced broken 1. or fractured pipe typically visible near a pipe joint. Debris or rocks 2. remaining in the pipe invert that was lined over.‡
