                       6.7.3 OTHER PAPER MARKETS

                       Building manufacturers have used waste paper as a raw material for manufacturing other items.
                       Home insulation has been manufactured from old newspapers. The cellulosic material is sprayed
                       with an antiflammability agent and can be blown directly into wall cavities. Other applications of
                       waste paper include insulation board, fiberboard, roofing, and siding. The molded pulp industry
                       uses waste paper for the manufacture of plant pots, egg cartons, meat trays, and packaging materi-
                       als. In agriculture, waste paper has been used as animal bedding (NAA, 2002). Old newspaper bed-
                       ding has replaced straw bedding in some businesses due to its availability and relatively lower price,
                       particularly during years of weather extremes. Old newspaper bedding has been shown to not
