Instrumentation and Control 211
11.0 FINAL NOTES
Facilities should regularly review and renew existing systems, even though such con-
siderations are often made only during the initial design of an instrument and con-
trol system or during initiation of a capital construction project. Although an installa-
tion may have met initial requirements when installed, equipment failures and
obsolescence must be considered and managed.
This chapter provides an overview of industry and U.S. EPA requirements and
practices for continuous instrument systems and data quality and integrity require-
ments. Local, state, national, and international requirements are in a constant state of
flux, however, and should be consulted.
