94 What Type of Leader Are You?
gesting or demanding that someone else do something, or in any
way mobilizing forward action—stop yourself and think: What is
going on inside me that makes me want to move forward so
quickly? What will happen if I don’t take action right now?
SHARE YOUR FEELINGS OF VULNERABILITY. How many times have
you allowed yourself to feel sad or cry in the last year? How many
times have you become angry? It is likely that you have been angry
far more often than you have been sad. Can you identify areas of
vulnerability that your anger may be masking? Even if your anger
has been the result of another person’s being treated poorly or
someone’s not stepping up to perform a task for which he or she
is responsible, can you identify an area of your own vulnerability
that this is activating?
Enneagram Style Nines
Nines seek peace, harmony, and positive mutual
regard and dislike conflict, tension, and ill will.

Extreme self-mastery The Fully Conscious One
Core understanding: Unconditional regard connects
everyone and everything.
Nines who have reached the level of extreme self-mastery no
longer have difficulty taking a stand. In fact, they approach life
in an active and purposeful way, knowing that they have the
right to voice their opinions. They are involved, engaged, and
extremely vital. Solid, substantial, and alert, they are also
serene, deeply content, and “in flow,” all of which come
from a firm inner core.
Example: Heidi had been a whistle-blower when she worked
for the federal government procurement office. She had
