turbines to the right will be offline. A radial system has single circuit
breaker between the transformer and the feeder and all the turbines
are connected in sequence. Note that a fault in the main circuit breaker
can cause the entire wind farm to be offline.
Three wind farm topologies are described next. 13 The associated
figure have been modified from Reichard 13 paper.
Figure11-7isabifurcatedradialtopologywithslightimprove-
ment over radial topology. Improvement is because a break
in feeder link causes fewer turbines to be offline. In a wind
farm, this topology is more likely compared to radial because
turbines are unlikely to be arranged geographically in one
