CS or the "Teen Murti"
A heterogeneous group of scholars based at The Centre of
Contemporary Studies (CCS) at the Nehru Memorial Museum and
Library (also known as "Teen Murti"), Delhi, practise a more
conventional form of cultural studies. Scholars like R.S. Rajan
and Geeta Kumar are as concerned with film, dance and
street culture as with Indian English and global
domination. Perhaps the most renowned amongst
them is Aijaz Ahmad, Marxist scholar and translator
of the ghazals of the classical Urdu poet
Ghalib (1797-1869).
