The working
                                                        classes  have  little
                                                          "cultural capital"
                                                        and  systematically
                                                            lose out  in the
                                                          battle for  cultural
                                                             power. When
                                                        "cultural  capital"  is
                                                            invested  in the
                                                        exercise  of taste, it
                                                           yields  both  high
                                                        profit for those who
                                                          possess  it  and a
                                                                  "profit in
                                                          legitimacy"  which
                                                         is the justification
                                                         of the  ruling  class
                                                           to  be the  ruling
                                                        class, to be what  it
                                                            is "right" to be.
