              through the solution to the substrate. At the end, the slide is moved
              back to position 1 to prevent the solution from sticking to the epitaxial
              layer. As described, this is a batch process method, slow, limited by
              diffusion, and not suited for growth of thick plates. To overcome the
              disadvantages of the conventional method, the system shown in Fig. 9.2
