As you both work through your choices, a new person-to-
person loop takes shape. One of you seizes the initiative and
acts, the other person reacts, and each of you chooses
whether to be positive, negative, or neutral. These simple
decisions produce an Action-Reaction Behavior Cycle, a com-
plete social exchange.
What will it look like?
This may surprise you: There are only nine different Action-
Reaction Behavior Cycles. All the social drama of our
relationships plays out in this limited set of person-to-person
