7. Veneer walls (Fig. 6.11a) are characterized by their nonstructural cladding which
enhances aesthetic qualities of a wall. A veneer is defined as a nonstructural facing of
brick, concrete, stone, tile, metal, plastic, or any other material attached to a backing
(or a backup wall) for the purpose of ornamentation, protection, or insulation. Veneer
