depth to the island, drag the Distance slider to 10 pixels, set Spread to 4%, and set Size to 13 pixels.
To reduce the darkness of the shadow, drag the Opacity slider down to 55% (see Figure 5.33).
Click OK to close the Layer Style dialog box. Figure 5.33 also shows the completed kitchen
island.
NOTE The actual values you use in Layer Style Effects depend on the absolute pixel size of the image
in which you are working. Therefore, the actual percentages or numbers of pixels that you use for
the controls in one project may not transfer directly to another project. However, you can scale the
Layer Style Effects globally by choosing Layer Layer Style Scale Effects.

7. In the Layers palette, expand the triangle next to the Kitchen-A-mlwk-ilnd layer name. Each
effect you applied is accessible with an effect icon. You can also toggle the visibility of each effect
with the corresponding eye icon. You can jump to a specific page within the Layer Style dialog
box; double-click the effect icon next to Color Overlay to open the Layer Style dialog box with
the Color Overlay options. Now that you have seen how this works, press Esc to cancel.
