Chapter 27
Ten (More or Less) Shortcut Keys
forEditing Data
orksheet editing forms a significant part of the work you do in Excel. For that reason,
Wthe editing shortcut keys presented in Table 27-1 can go a long way to making your
editing work much more efficient. Of all the key combinations in this category, I urge you
to become familiar with Ctrl+hyphen (-) to open the Delete dialog box and Ctrl+Shift+plus
sign (+) to open the Insert dialog box. The Delete dialog box enables you to remove cells
and their contents from tables and lists in the worksheet, while at the same time adjusting
the remaining cells in the table or list so that there are no gaps in the data. The Insert dialog
box enables you to insert new cells in tables and lists, while at the same time adjusting the
remaining cells in the table or list so that they are overwritten.
