Shortcut Keys
he shortcut keys in Table 28-1 are a motley crew, running the gamut from those that
Tenable you to recalculate the worksheet when it’s in Manual Calculation mode, to those
that hide and unhide rows and columns of the worksheet. Despite their variety, you may
well find yourself relying upon them every bit as much as, if not more than, the other short-
cut keys that perform the more mundane Excel spreadsheet tasks.

F9 Calculate formulas in all worksheets in all open workbooks
Shift+F9 Calculate formulas in active worksheet
Alt+F8 Open the Macro dialog box to run or edit a macro
Alt+F11 Open the Visual Basic Editor for editing or writing new macros
Ctrl+arrow Move to the edge of the current data region (data range bounded by empty
key (←, →, ↑, ↓) cells or worksheet borders) in the direction of arrow key
Ctrl+Home Move cell cursor to first cell (A1)
Ctrl+End Move cell cursor to last cell in the active area (cell in last occupied column
and row)
Alt+Page Down Move cell cursor one screen to the right
Alt+Page Up Move cell cursor one screen to the left
Ctrl+Page Up Make the previous worksheet in the workbook active
Ctrl+Page Down Make the next worksheet in the workbook active
Shift+F10 Display the cell shortcut menu for the current cell
F11 or Alt+F1 Create a chart on its own chart sheet for the data in the current range
Ctrl+Shift+* (asterisk) Select all the cells in the current pivot table
Ctrl+8 Display or hide outline symbols for outlined worksheet data
Ctrl+9 Hide selected rows
Ctrl+Shift+( Unhide any hidden rows in selection
Ctrl+0 (zero) Hide selected columns
