5.6 LEATHER
One-component polyurethane prepolymer base primer (a commercial one-component
primer (Inestrat-G, Insoco, Alicante, Spain); viscosity 0.16 Pas, solids content 36 wt%,
surface tension 28 mJ/m) was applied to avoid roughening of a bovine tanned leather, and

to improve adhesion and mechanical properties. Polyurethane prepolymer reacted with
collagen fibers of the leather, creating urea moieties during curing.
