This cycle is the most significant electric-generating system available today.
Further, its capital costs are significantly lower than competing nuclear,
fossil-fired steam, and renewable-energy stations. Other advantages include
low air emissions, low water consumption, smaller space requirements, and a
reduced physical profile, Fig. 17. All these advantages are important in
today’s strict permitting and siting processes.
