Equipment Reliability
It is intuitively evident that piping can, and will, cause forces and moments to act
on equipment nozzles (see Figure 7-1). These forces and moments will ultimately act
on the equipment centerline (see Figure 7-2).
What is perhaps not often appreciated is the fact that the load and stress imposed
from a connecting piping system can greatly affect the reliability of equipment.
