peaks at 750.26 and 680.83 may be due to the presence of CdCl stretching.
1
A sharp and an intense peak at 464.81 cm is assigned to aryl disulfides
(SdS stretching).
Figure 8.4 depicts the FTIR spectrum of binary mixed oxide of Al-Fe
(BMO) of Fe and Al, showing bands at low wave numbers

400.00 cm , which can be attributed to vibrations of FedO bonds of
iron oxide in the case of BMO L . The disappearance of certain functional
groups at higher temperatures of 800 and 1000 C is vividly displayed in
the FTIR spectrum of BMO M and BMO H , respectively, clearly showing
the sintering effect. As demonstrated by the spectrum, practically no peaks
1
were observed in the regions above 450 cm and hence the spectrum was
analyzed in the lower wavelength region below 400 cm 1 (Figure 8.5).
Almost all the peaks in BMO L were observed in the far-IR region.
