Organizational Analysis

To be successful in transforming your organization with the goal of
achieving your vision, you must have an accurate picture of your orga-
nization’s strengths, weaknesses, and other vital information within
your first five or six months and, if at all possible, even sooner. You will
need to accomplish the following:

■ Ensure that your people understand the importance of accurate
information in order to strengthen their organization and achieve
its vision.
■ Explain what an organizational analysis is.
■ Involve many people in completing the organizational analysis
while they continue their regular work.
■ Facilitate the organizational diagnostic process with a sense of
urgency.
■ Complete the analysis and prepare to act on its recommendations
in six months or less.
