14.5.3 Performance
Voltage. The open-circuit voltage of the Li/SO battery is 2.95 V. The nominal voltage is usually

specified as 3 V. The specific voltage on discharge is dependent on the discharge rate, discharge tem-
perature, and state-of-charge; typical working voltages range between 2.7 and 2.9 V (see Figs. 14.9,
14.10, and 14.12). The cutoff voltage, the voltage by which most of the battery capacity has been
exhausted, is typically 2 V.
