                    Understanding the Workflow
SolidWorks offers multiple ways to do things in most functions. Most of the time, there is no one
way that is better than the others. Having a lot of ways to do things makes remembering ways to
do things easy, but sometimes it is hard to teach or learn because the options get overwhelming
quickly. My suggestion is to find a way that works for you and use it. Learn other ways if
something stops working for you. Here’s an example.
The Extrude Feature workflow offers several options:
                       1. From within an active sketch with appropriate geometry, click the Extrude toolbar icon.
                       2. Set the Extrude Feature options.
                       3. Click OK.
                       Or:
                       1. With no sketch active, click the Extrude toolbar icon.

                       2. Select an existing sketch with appropriate geometry.
                       3. Set the Extrude Feature options.
                       4. Click OK.
                       Or:
                       1. With no sketch active, click the Extrude toolbar icon.

                       2. Select a plane on which to create a sketch to extrude.
