5.6 ADAPTIVE BACKSTEPPING CONTROL
In the following subsections the reader is introduced into the the-
ory behind Adaptive Backstepping [51]. This adaptive formulation of the
Backstepping procedure allows a decoupling of the ISPS, and enables a
decentralized control scheme which is no longer dependent on the virtual
current source/virtual disturbance approach used in Sections 5.4 and 5.5.
