formance, and the physical size of the resistor and the details of the circuit
layout play a bigger role than the active components. By understanding the
principles, we will sometimes be able to make receivers with a bandwidth and
sensitivity sufficient for the application. Although it is not really a separate topic
at all, but should be handled as if intimately bound with the provision of ade-
quate bandwidth, we put off the calculation of noise to the next chapter.
