Estimate the amount of primer required for tape
Multiply pipe surface area by 0.001047 to obtain the Pipe surface area = 1.73442 sq. ft./ft. (Table 7 Pipe Data
number of gallons of primer required per mile of pipe. Section 3)
Example: Total surface area = 1.73442 ¥ 5280 = 9,157 sq. ft.
Pipe OD = 6 5/8≤ Gals of primer = 9,157 ¥ 0.001074 = 9.8 gals.
Length = 1 mile (Use 10 gals.)
