: WHAT DO WE DO NOW?

Some of you may have seen the movie The Candidate, in which Robert
Redford plays a young, upstart politician vying for the United States
Senate. The final scene, where Redford’s character has just learned
that his fledgling candidacy has been victorious, is particularly com-
pelling. He has invested significant time and effort into the campaign,
and just before he delivers his acceptance speech, he turns to one of
his staff members and says, “What do we do now?” From the look
on his face, it’s clear he truly doesn’t know what his next move is—a
look we occasionally see from leaders who have just received their
employee engagement survey results, a look that says, “What do we do
        now?”
