HOW TO PREPARE FOR DIFFERENT INTERVIEW SITUATIONS

                  PREPARING FOR “ELEVATOR INTERVIEWS”

The ability to convey your experience and career goals briefly
and succinctly is an important skill. Even if you aren’t look-
ing to make a move (yet), this skill will help you to keep your
career goals in mind and allow you to express them when-
ever you make a new contact. Spend time thinking about
this information, and practice this skill until you are able to
communicate your benefits in a few brief sentences.
This is sometimes called an “elevator interview” because
you should be able to complete the entire statement in the
time it takes for an average elevator ride. It is a vital tool to
have at your disposal when talking to recruiters and head-
hunters, especially at job fairs. Mastering the elevator inter-
view is a valuable networking tool.

points for an elevator interview. Remember, your time
is brief, one minute at the most. Hit your most important
