                    4. Regression analysis of Zn concentrations against clay and organic matter content in a
                       contaminated region yielded the following regression equation:
                       Zn = 25.6 + 5.5 clay (%) + 16.5 O.M. (%)
                         A new soil sample from the same region contains 12 percent clay, 3.5 percent organic

                       matter, and 174 mg kg zinc. Calculate the standardised concentration for a standardised
                       soil with 25 percent clay and 10 percent organic matter (hint: see equation 16.4). Is the
                       zinc contamination of this sample more or less than the area average?
                    5. Name two drawbacks of using contaminant depth profiles in floodplain soils to
                       reconstruct the contamination history of a river.
