6.4 Guide Blades for Reaction Turbines
It is reasonable to assume that impulse and reaction blading are not
very different. In most reaction turbines, the guide blades (stationary
blades) are constructed from drawn profiles with loose, milled spacers
for maintaining the pitch (Fig. 6.8). As a rule, riveted shrouds are fitted.
The contours of the rotor blading with their roots and integral
shrouds are milled from solid steel (Figs. 6.9 and 6.10).
