samples, and corrective measures should be taken to eliminate these
deposits during future operation.
When it has been determined that deposits have formed on the inter-
nal parts of the turbine, three methods may be employed to remove the
deposits:

1. Turbine shut down, casing opened, and deposits removed manually
2. Turbine shut down and allowed to cool, the deposits cracking off
because of temperature changes
