Other Palm Models
Since the Palm VII, Palm has continued to innovate and introduce a number of
new models. These days, store shelves are only stocked with these newest
models. These include the many models in the m series—from the m105 to the
m515—along with the Zire, the i705, and the Tungsten T and Tungsten W. One
of the most affordable Palm devices to date is the m105, seen in Figure 1-7.
At the time this book was written, the PPRK did not support any of these
latest models in the Palm family, though that may change by the time you read
this. Acroname has assured us that it is working on a cable that is compatible
with the many devices in the m series. The main problem for the m105 and
other m series models is that the current connector cable for the PPRK uses a
Palm III–style connection; this connector can connect to the m105, but does
not stay firmly attached. As a result, you need to glue or otherwise attach it to
the m105, which is problematic if you want to use your m105 for things other
than robotics.
